Chapter 11
Now, if you thought Ueda had a rough time sleeping that night, think again. Jin was also having his fair share of unpleasant dreams that almost...but not quite mirrored Ueda’s. As clear as day as Tatsuya’s dream was that night, Jin’s wasn’t as clear since all he saw was only that which was illuminated by a light hanging from the ceiling and a long box positioned beneath it. A box that was as long as he was tall...maybe slightly shorter. He could hear nothing from the darkness that surrounded him, except the sounds of sobbing. Jin was more intrigued with the box that sat in front him, he had the oddest feeling that it was calling to him..like it was waiting for him to open it to see what was inside, now since one can equate Jin’s curiosity to that of an eight week old puppy....well you could pretty much guess what his next action was going to be. If you thought that he would go and open the box that rested before him then, you would be right as that’s exactly what he did. Upon closer inspection of the box in question, a horrible realization had struck him and he didn’t like it one bit. To his shock and horror he noticed it was coffin...
“ But who’s is it? he said out loud more to himself than anything. He opened it and from what he could see, mind you he couldn’t see all that much since it was one of those cryptic dreams that confuse the hell out of the people that have the unfortunate luck to get them, it was clearly the form of a guy outlined in the same darkness that surrounded him but the face all fuzzy. He couldn’t make who it was and that scared him more than anything in the world. He was just about to read the little nameplate that was tacked to the front of the coffin when he woke up and found that he was shaking worse than a leaf on a tree in a hurricane.
“ What in the name of great satan’s hell was that dream about and why am I shaking like mad?” He asked himself.
He got up and walked out on the balcony of his and Junno’s room and he just sat there staring out into the night. He just couldn’t understand why he would have such a dream and then whole mess with Ueda while Koki was telling his story...it just didn’t make any sense to him. As he sat there thinking...... Junno, who saw that Jin was awake, stepped out on the balcony and then went and sat down next to Jin who started absent mindedly running his fingers through Junno’s hair.
“ What’s wrong Jin? You don’t look too good.” Junno asked concerned.
“ Its nothing, really...just couldn’t sleep I guess.” he told Taguchi, which only half of that was true.
“ I am not that much of an idiot, Jin, now what’s up? If it was a simple as just a slight case of insomnia then you wouldn’t be shaking and besides, nothing with you is ever that simple and the only time you do this ( here points at Jin's fingers running through his hair) is when something is really bothering you."
I didn’t think he noticed. Jin thought to himself, unbeknownst to Jin...Ueda had that exact same dream, well almost. The only difference being is that Ueda’s dream was as clear as day. While Jin’s wasn’t quite so clear much to his great annoyance that is.
“ Okay, I’ll tell you. I need to talk about it anyway. I dreamt that I was standing in an almost pitch black room, with a light hanging from the ceiling and illuminating a coffin. I heard the soft sounds of crying coming out of darkness and all of a sudden I had the strangest feeling that the coffinn was calling to me, like I was supposed to look inside or something.”
“What, or should I say, who was inside it?” Junno wondered.
“ I walked up and peered inside and all I saw was a man lying there, outlined in the same darkness that surrounded me, so since I couldn’t make out the guy’s face...I went to read the little name placard on the front and that’s when I woke up and came out here. It scared the hell out of me, and as far back as I can remember I have never had dreams that bloody cryptic before.” Jin finished with a sigh.
Junno thought for a bit and said...” Maybe you’re stressed out or something?” though he did put a lot of emphasis on the last word.
“ Yeah...maybe, how do you when you’re in love? I mean...how did you know that you had fallen in love with Yuichi.” Jin asked...trying to mask the question as much as possible.
“ Hmm....it’s different for everyone. I mean, for me it was the way he would take extra care of me.”
“ Oh....” Was all he could say as he remembered the break up he went through with both Kame and Pi, but he still couldn’t quite figure out why his relationship with Yamapi didn’t work out. Though if he had to hazard a guess as to who would know, it would be Kame.
“ Thanks Taguchi, let’s get back to bed, ne? We have a big night coming up in a few hours.”
“ No problem, Jin.” Taguchi smiled and yawned as they made their way back inside.
“ But, out of curiosity, what were you doing up?”
“ Just going to the bathroom”
As he laid down, somewhat comforted by his conversation with Junno, of all people, he made a mental note to ask Kame about it later on.
