Summary: *avoids like the bubonic plague* This is a sequel the KoKame half of Rescue me, so you may want to read that one first...so you can understand this one better
Chapter 11
It was the last day of filming for Kame’s drama and luckily Miroku’s scenes ended sometime ago and therefor he wasn’t needed so the lovers could have calm day on the set for a change. Unfortunately the pair were running late, since Koki also had a doctor’s appointment that morning to get his meds adjusted to see if a slightly stronger dose would help with the still ever so frequent relapses, and the director wasn’t too happy and he let Kame know the instant they walked on set..
“ Hey guys!” It was Nino.
“Hey Nino, what are you doing here?” Koki asked, being over protective again even though Nino is one of the few guys, outside of his group mates, that he feels comfortable hanging around his Angel without his fears kicking into over drive. That and Nino doesn’t jokingly flirt too much with Kame around him, unlike Matsujun, who unless your name is Jin, could quite frankly care less. Thankfully Nino doesn’t like to pick on someone that much, especially if its a really sensitive issue...Koki’s fear of losing Kame for instance and vice versa, kame’s fear of one day losing Koki to the darkness of his illness.
“ Oh I am just filling in for one of the background extras, and I would watch out if I were you.” he said.
“ Why?” Kame asked, hoping it had nothing to do with Miroku, fortuitously it didn’t.
“ Because you’re late and Director-san not too happy about it” Nino finished just as their director storms over and starts yelling at Kame for being late.
“ So you finally decided to show up, I see? You’re late! Now get over there and get ready to start filming, I want this last scene done today and WITHOUT any screw ups, understood!”
“ Yes.” was all Kame could say as Nino wisely dragged Koki, seeing as he was getting mad, away from the guy who was still berating Kame for being late and saying that dramas aren’t made on the actors personal schedule.
“ Cut it out Koki, I know you want to step into say something but at least wait until after we’re done. I have worked with this director before and I know how he is, we are already behind because Kame was late...”
“ But it was my fault he was not here on time, all because I was....”
“ I know that Koki.” Nino cuts across him. “ While it couldn’t be helped and even though Johnny-san won’t do anything about it other than pretend to give you two a talking too, this director likes to get things done on time and when he learned that his drama was being worked around your guy’s trip, he looked livid. He almost threw a chair out Johnny’s office window. He hates time gaps like that and he thought that if by working that weekend of your family camping trip, he could finish filming early and he told Johnny as much.”
Accepting Nino’s explanation Koki sat down to watch Kame wrap up his drama, which took about 6 hours as the director insisted on working right through lunch. Which annoyed Koki greatly as he could have found something better to watch ( which involved him, Kame and a very dark storeroom) during what would have been Kame’s thirty minute lunch break and his annoyance showed on his face just Nino walks over since he was done a whole three hours earlier than the rest of the cast.
“ Hungry?” He asks sitting down next to koki and shoving his nachos in Koki’s direction.
“ No, but could you get my meds from Kame’s jacket pocket? I need to take the stuff twice a day now and I missed my second dose.”
“ Yeah, sure” Nino says and reaches for Kame’s jacket, an action that didn’t go unnoticed by Kame who caught it the movement out of the corner of his eye and he smiled.
“Thanks” Koki said an popped the pill into his mouth as Nino gave him Kame’s water bottle to drink from.
“ I never told anyone this but...I kind of know what you and Kame are dealing with.” He said, looking at the floor.
“ Huh?” Koki said with equal parts shock and confusion in his tone.
“ Yeah its true, my last boyfriend had a mental condition and it was rough on us both. He also took medication and depended on me a lot when we were together. And while your condition is different from what his was, and the stress involved was different for me than it is Kame, the fight is the same. The feelings of everyone around you thinking your nuts and your partner one day leaving you because they can’t handle it anymore are also the same. But we broke up 3 years after I found out about it and I last I heard he was still institutionalized but was released a year ago and has been living on the streets due to his drug addiction.”
“ But what caused you two to break up?” Koki wondered
“ He said that he loved me too much to keep putting me through all the stress and anxiety over his own condition that he just up and left the apartment we were sharing at the time. He knew it was rough on me having to deal with his issues and with me being an Idol, he saw the stress in my face and thought that it would be better if he just left, which of course wasn’t true and I tried telling him as much. But he refused to listen and he walked out and never looked back, at least not that I know of anyway. I don’t tell you this to be ignorant and increase your fears but to let you know that if you need someone to talk to when Kame can’t be around that I am here for you and definitely won’t judge you.” he smiled
“ Thanks Nino, I trust in Kame. But I still can’t stop being afraid that either my worst fear or his will come true.” Koki buried his head in hands sounding defeated.
“ We both know Kame pretty well and he’s stronger than that. He will die helping you if he has too, Koki, as he told me once before while we were having lunch the other day, when you were visiting your mother...he will never leave your side even if you two get married one day. You’re too important too him and he his love for you is as epic as your’s is for him. So, just keep trying to remember that, like it or not, he’s sticking to you like super glue. He won’t ever abandon you.”
Koki just smiled at that as Kame was finally done and walked over to where Koki and Nino were sitting and sat down comfortably in Koki’s lap.
“ Kame!! Why do you always have to sit in his lap when I want you to sit next to me?” Nino whined playfully as both Kame and Koki stuck their tongues out at Nino’s pouting.
“ Because its my favorite place to be and its comfy” he said, like he told Jin one day, who asked why he just doesn’t sit in one of the chairs..Koki’s lap is way more comfortable than those stupid metal chairs. Three of them were chatting happily when the director walked over, still pissed off, and Koki took the chance to tell him that it was his fault that Kame was late.
“ Remember...Kamenashi-san, DON’T be late for the photo shoot next week...or ELSE!!”
“ Listen, its not kame’s fault he was late, it was mine. I had a therapy appointment this morning and it ran over, so if you want to blame someone and yell at someone then direct it at me and not Kazuya!” Koki said putting himself in the direct line of fire.
“ I don’t care! Just because you picked a screw loose for a boyfriend is not my problem! Its still no excuse for being late” he said to kame, seemingly ignoring Koki who was standing right in front him. After hearing the words “screw” and “loose” in the same sentence as Koki, Kame got pissed and decked the director before anyone could stop him.
“ Kame!!” Koki and Nino said at the same time
“ Kame! Stop!” Koki said as he pulled his partner away from the director, while Nino helped the poor guy up. After dragging an angry Kame back to his trailer ( they’re outside) he tried to wrap his arms around his lover to try and calm him down but Kame just pulled away...
“ Why did you stop me? He crossed the line back there and you know it!” he said angrily
“ Because you can’t go around beating the crap out of everyone who calls me such things, Kazu, or Friday’d have a field day with you in the papers.”
“ But I just....”
“ Want to protect me, I know honey, but violence isn’t the best way to do that. Don’t get me wrong, I find it sweet I really do and I love you for it. But as long as those closest too us don’t think like that then just what everyone else says roll of your back, alright?
“ But...”
“No “buts” Angel, will you at least try...for me?” He says as he cocks his head to the side like a puppy and gives Kame puppy eyes to boot. Cursing the fact that he will always be under the spell of the way Koki tends act like a cute puppy, he gives in.
“ Okay, baby, for you I will try.”
“ I am glad, now come here...”
Kame gets up and walks straight into Koki’s arms, right where both of them know he belongs.
“ I love you, Koki”
“ I love you too Kame.” Koki says and kisses kame lightly as Nino knocks on the door. Koki opens it and stands to the side to let him in.
“ So, is everything alright now?”
“ Yeah, I fine now.” he smiles at Koki
“ Good, because there’s someone outside that wants to apologize for his actions” Nino said glaring at their director who was standing just outside the door, looking guilty. Koki and Kame walked back out to see what he wanted.
“ Listen guys, I...I’m sorry. What I said was out of line and really insensitive and I won’t make excuses. But I am sorry and I hope we can all still continue to work together from here on out.” he bows and leaves.
“ What did you say to him, Nino?” Koki asked
“ Oh nothing much...just gave him a friendly reminder of what could happen to him if he did that again. I know Johnny wouldn’t be happy about it and its no secret that he favors you two like he does.
“ Since I had to work through lunch why don’t three of us get something to eat...I’m hungry” Kame whines as both Nino and Koki chuckle at Kame’s overtly dramatic behavior.
“ Come on my little drama queen lets go.” Koki says teasingly, which earns him light punch on the arm, and three head out to find food, on the way they cross paths with MatsuJun, who, for whatever reason, doesn’t really care much for the fact Kame and Koki are together since he gets jealous every time he sees the pair together. Which was the reason as to why he outed their two band mates to the whole of JE, but since Jin is his best friend, he wisely has never wanted to find out what might happened if he crossed Ueda and since its Kame and Koki aren’t exactly trying to hide the fact from the company, he has no reason to cause trouble...except for the small fact he has a thing for Kame and Koki took his chance away from him. Not that Matsujun would actually ever try such a thing as to break up the famous Myuoto pair.
“ Hey guys.”
“ MatsuJun, what brings you this way?” Nino asked, while Koki grabbed Kame’s hand and stood possessively closer to him.
“ I was coming by to see if you wanted hang out.” he says explains
“ Sorry, I am having a dinner with Koki and Kame”
Matsujun glances towards the other two and when he sees Koki’s hand in Kame’s he gets annoyed and decides to be a jackass..
“ I have a better idea. Hey Kame?”
“Yeah.”
“ Why don’t the two of us have dinner and leave the other two to fend for themselves.” He says he wraps his arm around Kame’s shoulders and forces his way between Kame and Koki. Koki moves over to stand by Nino just as Nino tries to warn his band mate that was a really bad idea.
“ I really wouldn’t do that if I were you, Jun.” He says as Kame glances in Koki’s direction to check the nature of his eyes and luckily he doesn’t see the signs of Koki’s relapse states.
“ Why?”
“ Kame...get over here.” Koki orders, still being mindful of his tone.
“ Okay” Kame says as he obeys and hurriedly stands next to Koki, just in time too as Koki hauls off and hits Nino’s band mate right in the stomach which causes Kame to cock an eye in Koki’s direction.
“ I warned you” Nino says laughing.
“ I was only joking Koki, geez, you didn’t have to hit so hard.” he says indignantly.
“ Koki...doesn’t what you did just go against what you told me in my trailer?”
“ It does...but I am tired of him doing that and I have repeatedly ask him to stop, but he just won’t listen...so I hit him.” He says with a shrug and slips his hand back into Kame’s.
“Wow koki...possessive much?” Nino chuckles.
“ Oh shut up” Koki retorts but laughing all the same.
“ Can we get dinner now?” Kame says rather annoyed.
“ Okay, princess, let’s go” Koki says as they all head out to dinner, Matsujun included since Nino said that he would keep in under control. They get to the restaurant and start talking about work, their dorama’s and what not. None them noticed the man watching them from just a few feet away at the next table. They pay and leave, on the way back to their cars Nino brings up the Cherry Blossom Festival that’s going tomorrow.
“ Hey the Cherry Blossom Festival starts tomorrow, wanna join Sho and me?” Nino asks.
“ That would be nice, it will be our first one as a couple. What do you say Kame?”
“ Yeah sure”
“ Great. Around noon then?”
Koki flips open his phone to see if he has time to get that file first.
“ Hmm....better make it around two. I have something to pick up first”
“ Okay, see you guys then.” He says and leaves.
“ What was that all about?” Kame asks after making sure they weren’t over heard.
“ We still have to get that file remeber?” Koki reminds him.
“ Oh yeah”
The pair head back to Koki’s place to start looking through the newspaper again before bed. After about an hour they give it up as a bad job and go to bed.
